Environmental NEWS - Spring 2008
The NELAC Institute (TNI) finalized interim standards for environmental laboratory operations at their meeting in January, 2008. The standards define a wide variety of requirements to ensure that laboratories generate data of known and documented quality. Included in the interim standards are procedures for determining and verifying limits of quantitation (LOQ) and detection (LOD), which is synonymous with method detection limits. The document specifies the concentrations to be used and frequency for verifying the LOD and LOQ. Lancaster Laboratories meets or exceeds the LOD and LOQ requirements published in the TNI interim standards. The interim standards are published on the TNI website at www.inela.org.
