Confirmation of sample receipt available in Excel via e-mail

Lancaster Labs’ customers can now obtain confirmation of their sample receipt at the laboratory through receipt of an e-mail Excel Spreadsheet. The Sample Acknowledgment contains all of the information that’s critical for customers to be confident that samples have been received intact, including sample ID, date and time of collection, each test to complete, cooler and an estimate of the overall sample group charges.

Once samples are entered into Lancaster Laboratories’ Information Management System (LIMS), the Project Manager (PM) reviews the chain-of-custody against the scheduled analyses to ensure the information was entered accurately. Once the PM has completed reviewing and has scanned the chain-of-custody, Lancaster Laboratories automatically sends the Excel file (two worksheets), chain-of-custody and the sample receipt documentation log, which contains cooler temperatures.

Lancaster Laboratories began offering this service this past spring and can add as many e-mail contacts as needed to receive the information.
